H.E.R. | History, Empowerment, Resilience at the Arts Illiana Gallery

Three of my women figurative cold wax pieces are in the exhibit titled H.E.R. | History, Empowerment, Resilience at the Arts Illiana Gallery in Terre Haute, Indiana. This show celebrates the influence of women in our lives and communities. The gallery explains that this exhibition “honors the diverse roles women embody—from daughters and friends to mentors, leaders, and visionaries. Artists are encouraged to reflect on and explore the ways in which women shape our experiences, traditions, and futures. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and more, we welcome works that pay tribute to the legacy of women’s strength, resilience, and creativity. Whether you’re inspired by personal relationships, historical figures, or abstract ideas of womanhood, this exhibition is a space to share and celebrate the profound impact of women across generations.” This theme resonates with me on a deep level and reflects one of my driving forces as a feminist artist.

You are invited to the opening reception on February 7th, from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Arts Illiana Gallery, 23 N. 6th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana. The show will be up from February 7th until April 11th. The gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.
