“The journey books are the result of a group of classes I took at a bookstore. We learned how to fold, cut and glue pages in a book to make pockets, doors, and windows; how to glue multiple pages together to make deep recesses that I eventually filled with beads, etc. I bought 15 blank books made of recycled paper. Each book has a theme which I address with poems, quotes, and layers of paintings, drawings, collaging, ribbons and beads. The name Journey books reflect the experience I had in making them; the journey I traveled to a deep and lovely place each time.”
