COLD WAX
“My present work moves me into a feeling of continuation past the edges of the artwork into the unknown. Using a palette knife, I build up thick textures, piling color upon color and then cutting through it all with line work. The result is a body of work that I feel captures a feeling of exploration, emotion and a love of the line, which often brings to mind a favorite quote from Matisse ‘One must always search for the desire of the line, where it wishes to enter or where to die away.’”
